I just wanted to point out a correction on one of my earlier posts VAT on eBooks.
I had indicated that a consumer in the EU purchasing an eBook form a supplier outside of the EU should not be charged VAT. I'm afraid this is not true.
I had a conversation with a lovely gentleman in the finance department of Kobo and we looked over the documentation together.
As the place of supply is the home country of the customer the VAT is charged at the rate of that country.
